Opinions wanted: Pontiac Bonneville SSEi

Hey All,

Wondering if anyone has any experience with the Pontiac Bonneville SSE?? Supercharged V6, I think it's the GM 3800, isn't it?

If you've got any stories or knowledge on 'em, please share... I might have a line on one, wondering what I could be getting myself into, though.

Thanks!!

I'm daily driving a 95 SSEi now, the supercharged motor is almost indestructable although i am having a few probs with my car now. But it's not powertrain problems, it's water leaks from the sunroof and windshield. Only the SSE with an i is supercharged, an SSE is not. Some have Heads-up display, which is nice. Not that it matters but the cars have a top speed limiter raised to 130 from 115 on regular bonnevilles.

Yes, the one I'm looking into is the SSEi, I miss-typed that in my original topic. I guess it's having some brake trouble or something, but I haven't taken a good look at it yet.

BrianMc, I think I must have seen you on bonnevilleclub.com. That site pretty good for tech stuff?? I'll defiinitely need a good resource if I do go thru with this purchase.

Thanks for your replies!

It's not real good for tech stuff but my job is a Buick tech so all i work on are Park avenues and Lesabres which are the same thing if you need help.

That's mighty kind of ya.

I really only scanned thru stuff quickly over there, saw a lot of posts on wheels, etc.

I like to do my own wrenching most of the time, when I can. Do ya know if Chiltons has a decent manual for the supercharged car??

Chiltons manuals are incomplete most of the time on wiring and trouble code diagnosis. GM books are the best if you can find them on ebay.
