when i bought the car, the label was missing. i would like to know if there is any way to get this information. i would like to know for sure if it is a true G/N. i was told by a few people that it more than likely is( Dave Hentz, and Pete from Kirban's ), but i would still like to get the info. and have a label reprinted. i also have g.m. customer assistance looking into it, but i figured i would post and see if any of you has any info. thanks.

As far as I know there is no way to get a duplicate label. For years people have been wanting one but from what I understand Buick did not keep this information on file. They can tell you any information you need on the entire model year run but no info on individual VINs. The only way you can find out is to find the build sheet for your car and the chances are slim to none its still with the car. If you were to do a search in this forum there are 1 or 2 people attempting to do reproduction labels.

Check the Fisher body plate on the firewall cowl under the hood. Near the wiper motor. Some of the early production models had the code "W11" which is for the turbo regal model. You can also confirm your build date to the door sticker build date.
Upper left corner of the plate has a 4 digit number code
I.E. H06E
H = 1987 model year
06 = June
E = Fifth week of the month (which June of 87 did have)

Other than build sheet or the options sticker on the trunk lid, there is nothing that documents it as a GN.

Look at it this way, If it comes with all the GN fluff, it is a GN.

nope, no build sheet. already looked on both doors and under the back seat. hopefully g.m. cust. assistance will be able to help. like i said, i've been told it most likely is, but it would be nice to know for sure. there's always those couple of guys at work who always have to comment( that's not a real GN ). probably just jealous that they're getting their a$$ smoked by something that's 17 years old and still looks damn good!!

You/they do realize that "Grand National" was only a trim package, right?

no, i wasn't really sure what the difference between a t type and a gn was. don't know about the other guys either. i do notice there is a difference in book value between the two, and i'm a little curious about what i paid also. assuming i got a true GN, i don't think what i paid was too bad (8,800 ) 71,000 miles, clean interior, fresh paint(not the greatest job, but nice) new rubber. also wanting to have the label in case of resale, not that i'm thinking of that anytime soon. thanks for the replies.
