I guess it's common, but I've got a very small crack between 3 and 5 primaries.
From what I understand, headers are a no-no on these cars until you get into the low-11's.
What options do I have to fix this? New header or can it be welded?

Many board members have had great success welding the factory hedders. Just make sure the hedder is torqued to a head before repairing the cracks. I replaced my cracked hedders with Poston replacement hedders. Also, ATR sells a replacement DS hedder, so does Kirban.

Is the driver's side pretty easy to remove and reinstall? My crossover pipe has been removed recently for a rear main seal, so it should still be in good shape to remove.

That was the answer I was looking for. Thanks.

Kirban Performance doesn't carry the header, so I think I am just going to bite the bullet and get a stainless one. That way, I'll do the replacement once.

Just to let you know, the factory GM unit (no longer available) that cracked is stainless. I was told by a hedder manufacturer that GM used such a cheap grade of stainless steel to produce the turbo regal hedder and the heat created by the heat shields was the cause of the cracks on the factory hedder. The Poston unit is not stainless, but is coated (inside and out). This also does not guarantee it will not crack, as I heard some board member claim their Poston units cracked. But mine seem to be just fine. The coating on the hedders allow the exclusion of the heat sheilds, hence they are not sold with heat sheilds. I wouldn't go though the trouble to remove the factory heat sheilds to install them on my new hedders anyhow.

I've had Poston's headers for a couple of years now. The ceramic coating looks great and the underhood temps are indeed lower. I didn't use the heat shield either and I'm still not cooking wires like the stockers did. I love them! Check out this pic..... you'll have to cut and paste, but you'll see the poston header (Passenger side) along with a jet hot coated downpipe.
