I have the tranny out and just need some tricks or tips on what to do because there doesnt seem like a lot of info on this subject. I also have my conversion kit from Transgo.

Any info is appreciated.

Pull pan, pull tcc solenoid replace valve with non lock valve. Call it a day. Unless you want to pull the check ball from the front shaft.

I was under the impression that you had to pull out the check ball in the front shaft.

If you are still running the 200, and you haven't invested in Chris' manual,(CKPerformance) I found it to be well worth it. I invested in the tools he recommended for rebuilds as well. It went a long way in understanding the inner workings of the trans. He also offers manuals for the 400 and 350's.

I will definitely buy one of those manuals. I forgot all about it. Thanks

Ok. After doing my own tranny brake install, this is actually embarrassingly easy.
Here is a pic of the Check ball that needs to be removed.

Here is the TCC solenoid removed from the VB.

Here is the where the TCC solenoid was (those two bolts used to hold it in). You pull that snap ring and washer and the valve with 2 springs will fall out. Replace those with the new valve and pin provided by Transgo.

What is required to remove the check valve/ball?

Drill bit, did it the Lonnie way

FYI I found 18 blade to be too loose and sent back for 17 blade with no regrets....

I wouldn't suggest drilling it out to noobs like myself. The screwdriver worked perfectly without shavings in my fluid.

Your not drilling it out. Your using the bit to grab the edge of the case and when it grabs pull the drill towards you and the ball and case comes right out. Not shavings no mess. Take like 5 seconds

Posting the size drill bit to use would help other people I guess.

What info are you looking for??
Not looking for info. Your insinuating that I may want to change my 18 blade to a 17 blade because I may not like the 18 blade; however, we dont have any info or specs of either of our cars. How can we compare combos/goals?
I had Dusty Bradford choose my converter, but he needed the specs on my car and my goals.
