is the chrome 1/4 window molding different from a no-landeau to landeau?

The metal chrome molding is the same but the rubber seal it sits in is different.

can I reuse the old seal if I get a new chrome ring? Mine is cracked and need to replace it

The windows are encapsulated which means the rubber is made on the window. If you only need to replace the chrome it can be done but if it is a show car you should buy another complete window. The rubber also runs through holes in the chrome to hold it together. You can cut this part down in the channel & remove/replace the chrome but it may not lay perfect afterwards because of this.

that figures... I've got a piece of glass because it was busted before and someone rigged it with lexan. I guess I'll be lookin for a whole assembly then

I'm a little confused now.. so I'll need to find a window assembly for a landeau car or just the glass and outer chrome ring from either style roof and reuse my rubber gasket?

I got a quarter window with chrome if you need one. give me a pm.

You need a whole window assembly and you need it for a landau if you have a landau. The rubber protrudes past the chrome less on a vinyl top car.
