Overported my wastegate hole. What now?

If you have a nasty spike, loosen up the wastegate rod.

What kind of boost bleeder are you running?

The rjc ball and spring style almost eliminates creep on my daily driver.

I just put on the RJC hoping it would cure my problem, but really didn't help at all. My boost fluctuates a good bit on a 1/4 mile pass. It usually stays around 17 in 1st and 2nd, but I get a 3 psi spike on the 2-3 shift, then drops back to 17 and then creeps back up to 20 before the end of the run.

How tight is your wastegate rod?

Did you loosen it up some, then take apart the rjc assy, stretch the spring inside to get more boost out of it.
Mine i just cranked the rjc in all the way, and adjust with the wastegate.
That was on my other car, it was running higher boost.

Now, how long, and what diameter is your wastegate hosing? Ive had good luck running the smallest diameter hose, and the shortest amount of hose to cut down on the spike.
Might try stepping down the size to 5/32 to reduce the amount of volume in the wastegate hoses.

I loosened up the actuator rod where I only needed to pull to about 3/16" to put it on the flapper. Then screwed the RJC in 2 full turns (have not stretched spring)

This resulted in 15 psi. I then screwed the RJC in 5 full turns, which resulted in 17 psi. Then I tightened the rod 3 rounds and was only at 18.

I've tried 2 different actuators with pretty much the same result

If you overtighten the WG rod, it can't blow open far enough to bypass the exhaust... resulting in boost creep.

What I do is adjust the rod to the point it takes approx 1/8" of pull to slip on the stud... then adjust my RJC gizmo to the boost level I want.

If you can't get the boost up enough, try doing what was mentioned above... stretch the little spring a bit. You also may want to check for exhaust leaks. Sometimes even the slightest leak will cause problems.

and then stretch the spring.

If you bottom out the rjc setup, then start turning in the wastegate rod.

Its possible, if you have a really good set of ported heads, that the boost is alot lower.

Now, are you running a heavy duty actuator, or a stock actuator?
