In terms of longevity, I had the original sensor in our stock hot air car for 140k miles.
I finally replaced it as preventative maintenance.
In my other cars with heated sensors, the heater goes bad in a short time.
Maybe others know if there is an advantage but I don't know of one.
 
Stock is fine don't need a heated unit
