I have what I believe to be a T63 turbo and I'm wanting to get a .63 a/r Precision turbine hsng for it. However, I don't know how to determine whether or what trim it is; P or Q. Anyone help?

TIA
HOW

the smallest Q-trim turbo that i have seen on a gn is a 66. every t-63 ive seen is a P-trim.

but if u wanna be sure, measure the exhaust wheel exducer.

P-trim...2.544"
Q-trim...2.693"

Mine measures at 2.519"
Inducer at 2.890"

Thanks for the replies.

p-trim inducer...2.922

q-trim inducer 3.111

so i guess, that with a margin of measurement error, it measures out to a p-trim.

are there any numbers stamped into the downpipe flange of the housing?

I have never seen a Q trim 63 either. If you want to me 100% sure to get the right housing, you could send your turbo to Precision and have them install the new housing. It will cost a little extra but save the potential headache of ordering the wrong housing.

Also if you got the turbo used or it came on your car, it may not be what you were told it was. I think sending the turbo to Precision for an ID check and a correct housing may be a good idea.

A Q trim will stick out of the side of the 3 bolt exhaust housing. A P trim wont
