Paint Codes

Can anyone tell me exactly which numbers are the paint codes and where they are located? I took the tag off of the cowl and took it to the paint store and the numbers didn't match up to anything in their paint books. I have an 86 WH1(black and silver),so if ya know the code or where to find it please let me know.

not sure of the code, but if you pop your trunk and look underneath it you should see a sticker there with a bunch of codes on there. one of those codes is the paint color.hth

designer package Y044 black on top silver on sides if correct

codes are as follow 19U black 9300

19L Black 9300 (secret )
84L Charcoal Poly converts to
gunmetal grey (PPG)

15M trim/stripe code

going through the same problem my data plate doesn't match my car at all interior codes don't even match my car is all orignal

Paint codes are located on a tag attached to the top of the firewall on the driver's side. The tag shows both upper and lower paint color.

The 9300 is what I needed it matched to what the paint store had. Now I just need to figure out the silver,but I'm trimming everything in right now, so I won't need the silver for a little while.

paint code

trim code is 15m which is charcoal poly (silver) ppg code is 84l I think which converts to gunmetal grey metalic hope this helps look in paint books for 83 84 yr on back thier is a note dealing with ttypes trim color is side accent color charcoal poly if your paint store can't figure it out I'll get the ppg and dupont sherwood codes for you believe me I've gone through the same thing

just started painting out the interior

totally striped the car in and out frame is done undercarriage is done double primed etching primer , expoxy sealer prime urathane paint

expoxy primer sealer on interior compartment simi black , will finish interior after christmas then comes the jams

I just had a paint shop in town pull the color codes for the silver/ gray on my 85 wh1 and it came back from gm as a medium metalic gray i think i have the # to let me check. I'll call my guy on monday and get the exact # for you...
