Here's some pictures of the pieces I painted with SEM TRIM BLACK 39143. Came out just great, and thanks to DABIGGUY, I can finally share them with you....what do you think?

Here's the rear tail light trim pieces...I filed the end edges very sharp with a needle file and epoxied a small crack on the driver's trim.

Headlight trim rings painted with SEM TRIM BLACK 39143

Here's a shot of the headlight trim rings...I sanded the rings with 400 grit wet/dry trimite paper, cleaned them, then painted with three coats. Came out nice. Beats putting out $56 for four black ones. The stainless trims are a dime a dozen in the boneyards.

T-Top Trims painted with SEM TRIM BLACK 39143

Here's some pictures of the T-Top side trims painted with SEM. I wet sanded them until I got all of the scratches out, then taped up the surrounding edges with Frog Tape. Then applied the called for three coats, with 5 minutes between coats. As an old friend used to say, "Not bad for an amateur." (I've been hearing that from him for over 20 decades)

Hey, buddy....Thanks for the compliment! I can sure use it. I'm just showing that anyone here on this forum can do this if they take their time and try.

Again, thank you.

The black trim around the headlights instead of the stainless steel looks real sharp.

Thank you. It's some sort of way to make the Grand National look a little difference. Wonder why they didn't come from the factory this way?

painted parts

I told a guy about this trick 2 years ago at Richard Clark's event and it was a shocker to him when I showed him my car. I even did my headlight bezels because if you look at the chrome vs. the black set from the side the black pair seems to droop a little in the middle , the chrome pair's plastic is just stronger(thicker).

"Hearing it for 20 decades."

Boy, you are REALLY old!

Ah, damit, Steve, I meant 20 years.... Guess I AM getting old for a slip-up like that. Sorry. I need to proofread my tiping mor oftan.

Thank you kindly. I got the stainless headlight trims from a boneyard and used those, putting the originals that came with the GN away, in case I die and my wife can return the car to it's original state for her new boyfriend. Appreciate the compliments.

Very nice work. Thanks for sharing. Just ordered a can.

Thank you and you're welcome. Make sure that you follow the directions on the can exactly. Surrounding temperature of the part plus where you paint it plays a very important roll. Do not over spray and get runs. Just light covering coats, times three. I know you'll be happy with the results.

Again, thank you kindly.
