we use to make black with a black base and purple, i can't remember why- but i think the purple was to keep it from looking brown. but this was using rm paint at like macco or earl shives...
i had forgotten about glasurit, a friend used that on his car- it was slick and deep.
an old painter called me over one day. he told me to look down at 2 cans of clear he had. they were both new, and had the caps off. looking down thru the clear to the bottom of the can, one was yellow and cloudy and the other was crystal clear. he said that is how you can tell a really good clear.
both of them were high dollar clear, but one was better than the other.
