I've used them on 4 different cars, with great results,
look for someone who has been in business more than 2-3 yrs,
and does the dealers cars.
had 3 dents removed, $300 total, but one was on a crease!
because I knew where they were, I can see a shadow of where they were on one dent.
my silverado,,,,,,, no tell tale signs.

The wife's cousin is a master at it. He has been all over the world where ever there is a hail storm dealerships call him. He spent almost a year in France and about the same amount of time in Australia.

He has quite a network of friends all over the country and they tend to work together during the hail storms to repair an entire dealership lot of cars.

One summer he was here in Indiana and I sat there and watched him do several cars. Those guys that are good are magicians!

We have a couple guys come by our shop on tuesdays (sell a lot of used cars ) never had to take a panel off to remove a ding a few headliners for hail dings lol ) but no door panels These guys are quite good I've seen them go up through the drain hole plugs and take dings out have way up the door they charge by the panel 2-5 dings 75.00 It depends on how deep the ding is if its to deep they will not be able to remove without the paint cracking.I see them every week for last 4 years and it still amazes me of the of the dings they get out and yes if it's behind a brace sometimes they will drill a access hole. or as turbobitt said remove the panel.

Skill of the tech is very important but that being said, sharp dents are much harder to get perfect than shallower dents even if the shallow dent is larger in diameter. Hail dents half dollar size and under can come up perfectly in most instances. Door dings can be a pain in the ass if they are too sharp in the bottom of the dent and sometimes it just won't come up 100 percent without cracking the paint. Most of the time they can at least be made nice enough for the average eye to not see it even if they are looking the car over.

True. The owner of the car can almost always still see where it was....anyone else would never notice.

I have explained that to the wife but she doesnt get it. I know where every scratch and nick is on my cars because I hand wash all of them.

One thing I have noticed with the newer cars thinner metal once its been stretched the ding can be massaged back out and look fine .but over a period of time the place that was repaired shows up a little more than at first were it was repaired

Ion my 25 yr old car I counted about 30 dings/dents and that was on the driver side. Lol. All together I had marked approx 50 places on the car. I put a small piece of masking tape so the guy knew what I wanted done $350 later I could only find a few small imperfections they couldn't get out entirely. I could not have been happier!

This is 100% true.I have been doing PDR for 19 years and the sharper the dent is the metal can stretch and you cannot shrink it back up.With any dent that is repairable it is how much time a guy wants to spend on it as to how it will look especially with creases.I had a crease on a door that was the full length of the door on a 2013 Toyota Camry a couple of weeks ago for one of my new car dealers, they started to send it to the bodyshop but asked me first and 2 hours later I saved it from the body shop and the used car manager and customer were Happy as they could be and kept from doing paintwork which hurts value on newer cars.

My wife's cousin said black regals are one of his most hated cars to do. Between the black and the shape of the door he said it shows every imperfection. He has been doing dent removal since the mid 90's.

I have noticed that the car that shows the most imperfections is the mid 90's Cavalier. I don't think have ever seen one without doors that looked like people drove golf balls into them.

Damn,You brought up a bad memory I had forgot about. When I was still green,I went to work for my first dealership and the owner bought a little over 200 Cavalier convertibles that were rentals out of Hawaii. These cars were beach cars and beat all to hell and 1/4 panels had limited access because of convertible top .I will probably have nightmares tonight now that you have reminded me of those pieces of shit back then.LOL:banghead:
