I did an engine on a ‘84 WH1 T-Type for a guy and the new turbo failed almost immediately. Pumping oil out the exhaust side. Maybe 2 hours of running, hasn’t even been driven yet.
I pulled the turbo back off and the oil drain is clear, tube is clear 0 restrictions.
Is there anything different with the intake gasket? It’s got the valley pan style. I put a fel-pro intake gasket in it.
I work on tons on 86-87’s this is the first hot air motor I’ve done.

Intake gasket is the same and has nothing to do with oil delivery. If the engine is building oil pressure (sounds like it is), the oil feed line could be the culprit. Who rebuild the turbo?

sounds like the turbine end piston ring is missing
or
did not get installed during rebuild process
or
failed soon after startup...possibly a result of forced assembly breaking the ring or busting it out of its groove; re-use of worn groove turbine wheel/shaft, etc.
