gonna run these in my 84 hotair now need a chip for it tune on e85 need a new turbo for it too if anyone has one the stock turbo that in it runs good also have a te 44 in like new condition for a trade or money on top?
^^^ Also if your motor is the same as in your signature , those 80's would probably be plenty . Just keep an eye on duty cycle at WOT , if you're under 85% you are ok .
ok alittle up date this is going into my 84 hot air that is already converted to 87 ecm with translater and 3 1/2 maf and coils and crank sensor also was starting to do some more up grades as far as modded ecm I have one just need the chip for my setup going e85 with this 84 hotair. but got a code 42 out of no where cleared it like 4 time and kept coming back so since I was going to put the tr6 that was in the 87 might ad well do it now. well the car didnt start at all with the tr6 so I put the old coil pack back on and now it dosen't start with the old one on before it would start but with the 42 code thinking the crank sensor is the problem cause I have no injector pulse check that with noide light am I going in the right direction?
are you getting spark?
The ccci connector that plugs into the ignition module is known for the pins getting weak with age, check to see if any are not gripping well (there is a spare pin included with the TR6 for doing this)
well checked all the power wires going to the the injector harness and crank sensor harness and crank harness plugged that shit back and it started with a code 42 cleared it 4 time's came back gonna redo the power wire ring that goes to the back of the alternator 85-85coil pack conversion harness to 86-87 if that was giving me an intermittent problem will that throw a code 42? want to get rid of that code 42 before trying to out the tr6 box in.
Code 42 is a connection code for the EST and Bypass wires. they are terminals A and B on the 87 ignition, I think they are the same on the hotair modules also. A bad module ground could cause it also I think, but the most common issue is loose terminal pins on A and B, after that its shorted, pinched, or broken wires in those 2 circuits
