Hi guys,

I have an all stock 87 Grand National with absolutely no mods. Which chip would give me more power and better driveability; a Kenne Bell Ultimate Street Chip model 9006-U3 or a Red Armstrong 93 Street Chip? Turbotweak can make me a chip only if I put in a high pressure fuel pump with hot wire and at least a Bosch "237" fuel pressure regulator . What horsepower and torque increases can I expect from both chips?

The fuel pump and hotwire needs to be in there no matter what...repeat FUEL PUMP AND HOTWIRE IS A MUST!
The turbo tweak trumps the others hands down. You cant beat the tuneability, idle and cruise with the TT chip. I would even consider the others. Even for free. Its that much of a difference.

Good luck

Agreed. You shouldn't even consider a chip until you have a hotwired pump and can adjust fuel pressure.

Contact Eric Marshall aka Turbo Tweak........................

that is............. after you do a fuel system

You can expect knock on 93 octane with any reasonable amount of boost, a bit of tip-in stumble, less than great idle manners, but a nice fat healthy midrange power curve.... those chips are dinosaurs by todays standards.... do yourself a favor, replace the fuel pump (the original was BARELY, if at all, adequate when brand spanking new), wire the new fp with a hotwire kit, slap on a stock-appearing bolt-on fp regulator, and buy yourself an $85 piece of modern day TurboTweak technology.... the improvement in all driveability manners will amaze you..... you won't recognize the car after the changes.... and you won't be sorry.....

Are you starting to sense a trend here??? :D

Seriously, build your foundation first. Even with the stock chip a better fuel pump is cheap insurance towards helping your engine survive. When it comes to fueling, lean might be mean but it also kills (head gaskets, that is).
