I had a cork gasket on my transmission pan that i couldn't get to stop leaking.

I decided to give the right stuff a try after doing some reading on here and other sites and hearing people pretty much swear by the stuff.

I went to Autozone and picked up a 3 oz can, removed my transmission pan took the cork gasket off and cleaned the pan real good with degreaser and dried it real good, put a bead of the right stuff on the pan flange and carefully surrounded all bolt holes and immediately installed it and torqued to spec. I haven't had a single drop of transmission fluid leak since and that was 3 weeks ago.

This stuff is the best gasket maker/sealer i have ever used.

There is no waiting for this stuff to dry, you put it on and assemble the parts within 5 minutes and torque to specs and go.

I don't think i will ever use another precut packaged gasket again, you can use this stuff on engine oil pans, transmission pans, valve covers, differentials, water pumps, thermostats, etc pretty much anything except fuel system related sealing.

I don't currently have any engine oil pan leaks but if i ever do and i remove the oil pan it's going to get the right stuff treatment. ;)

Yeah Right Stuff works well...almost too well. It'll be a bitch getting that pan off next time. But I guess thats better than fighting with leaks all the time.;)

Hey John,

You will have some fun when it comes time to remove your transmission pan.

Thats fine with me as long as i don't have any leaks until then.;)

I really don't see me ever removing the pan again the only reason i did this time was to install a deep sump pan with more fluid capacity thats when i got the leaks this time.

I run a TH400 transmission thats been in use 6 years without a single problem so far and i also use an external oil filter, all the times i've changed the internal filter it has been clean to the point were i could have just reused it,looked like it was new.So unless the TH400 breaks and i don't think it will i won't ever remove the pan again.
