Virginia DMV kicked back the plate I really wanted

When I was there they accepted it no problem and I ordered them. Several weeks later I got a letter staing that plates, with obsenitys or drug referances are not permitted. I have seen much worse tags than that one!

I'm a license plate party pooper I guess.

As much as I like to get things for the Buick, I just can't see spending the money required for a personalized plate. Yearly registration fee is just shy of $100 for each vehicle here and a personalized plate adds another $35/year to that. Just not worth it to me.

In my state vanity plates only cost $15 more.Otherwise I probably wouldn't have them either.I'm cheap too. :redface:

"SlOWGRAY" was on my car while a friend had "SlOWGREY" on his...
"NCTURBOS" was on my enclosed trailer at one point in time...
"SOFFA" is on my Harley...

My Cummins is getting one soon. I'm thinking about:

"GOTSOOT?", "SOOTFUL", "SOOTYCTD", or...???

Here's mine:

Everyone asks me what they mean. They're off my N20 equipped Mustang so I guess they don't really mean anything. Since the car is a rebuilt recovered theft total I tell people it means the car cheated death.

I put collecter plates on anything I have that is 20 years or older. Cost $120 for the first plate and then $80 for any after that. Never have to register again. Have 3 now and getting the forth for my T-Type.

In NJ you get a special inspection sticker but can keep your plates. It's hard to tell from the pic, but they give you a triangle (versus a rectangle) for collector vehicles. It's exempt from inspection but I do need to continue to pay for registration and to renew the collector status every two years. State's gotta make their $$.

I ordered a special plate for my wifes WE4 last year:
“HERV6 8U”
The Indiana License branch gladly took my money . Then about three months later we got a letter from the BMV stating that 8U is found to be incriminating and they will not issue us the plate .
