How do you figure a kit that actually gets its air from outside the cars engine bay via smooth bore 4" tubing, an old school item?

MAF pipes are a joke IMO. Sucking hot underhood air is old school. Kinda like the 1st open element aircleaners for carbureted engines.

I guess I'm biased owning a Tomka kit, but I also know that hot air is not a powermaker.

AND, I don't think Kirban sells them anymore. Go to TR Custom Parts. He has Big-Mouth kits that are really good too. Very similar to the Tomka kit.

I think the tomka kits are no longer made, the new big mouth seem to be more desireable. The cold vs under hood has been beaten to death with no back to back tests that prove 1 is better than the other.Personnel pref:rolleyes:

And it was proven that the temp differential between the outside air, & the underhood air, has no real ill effect on your overall hp/tq.

I've installed countless Tomka kits on TR's over the years, and will continue to as long as they are available from Pete. He's a great guy, making a great looking quality piece. Plain & simple!!

OK....

I just got off the phone with Pete and he's still getting it done with his kits. You can call (303)279-7103 or visit his website @ http://psmdiesel.com/

The website is more active with his kits for the Dodge Cummins trucks but he's still making the Buick kits as well.

Hope this helps,

K.

Pete has the kits in stock $155 stopping at the maf & $220 atw to the turbo & that's 4in atw . Also u can buy just the hose . Pete is a great guy easy to deal with , ps when you call the phone gets picked up by Pete .

pics please!

someone post pics of the hose set up please!

I don't have a pic of the filter, but the hose goes thru the opening behind the headlights, & mounts behind the airdam.

This is not the cold air kit but it will give you an idea of what the filter end looks like.
