Thanks for the comments. I'm kind of a neat buff when it comes to cleanliness and organization.

The owner of the building supplied us with the materials to do all the painting in exchange for a break on the first month's lease payment, and I can't remember exactly what we used on the floor. I can tell you it wasn't anything special, just a one part covering, that comes right up with some brake fluid and a rag... It seems to be OK with motor oil and brake clean so far...
