OK, I "went to town" and had 1/8" NPT ports welded onto each header tube, and a 7th port near the O2 sensor. The funny port locations and angles were so the thermocouples would clear all obstructions, and that header bolts would still fit in.

I only expect I'll be running 2 thermocouples at once, in the #5 and #6 cylinders (supposedly the leanest and hottest). The other ports I'll keep plugged, but they're available if ever needed for diagnostics.
I'm still trying to decide whether to have the headers and crosssover pipe JetHot coated, leave them alone, or paint them.
I did have a question about heat shields on the headers (shields are removed in the photos). I can rivet the shield back on the passenger side header, but on the driver side I had to grind off the spot welds. Especially if I JetHot the headers, then I can't very well spotweld the shields back on. Any other way to attach shield, seems either flaky, or a lot of extra work.
How important is it to have a shield on the driver side?
