Just wondering what you guys thought of the Pinion Snubbers like Kirbans sells. Have a stock suspension car and looking to gain traction to improve my 2.0 60ft Times. Car does have billistein shocks and had 235-60-15 M/T ET streets on it to get the 2.0 60ft time leaving with 6-7lbs boost. Looking to crack into the 11s this year

IMOP the kirban snubber is JUNK. get a set of 255-60-15 MT E/T Street Radial for more traction. Are you spinning or?

Start to break loose after 7ishPSI - so Im forced to play pootch off the line and cant come on hard out of the gate. Will 255s clear allright? Was told the max you could go was 235/60/15s. IS there other snubbers out there?

I think in theory the bigger pinion snubber would work. I installed one, but I will say that in removing the stock snubber I don't think there was any evidence that it had ever been contacted. I've changed my set up since then, so maybe I will crawl under the car and see if there is any contact/wear on the new one.

There really is nothing to them. It's just a small rubber cone so I don't think there is a huge selection to choose from. You can get a lot bigger tire on your car. My 255s fit no problem and I've seen 275s as well. The 255s have gripped the road for my car amazingly. Also, you may want to try an airbag. Just a thought.

Like spring bags? Would it be better to get upper control arms and boxed lowers for better traction or are the bags a cheaper route around this?

If you are looking for a cheap way to get the rear to hook, get the stock lowers boxed and at least an airbag for the right rear and a set of good tires. I can't say whether the pinion snubber works or not, but it doesn't hurt anything. I consistantly get 1.48 60' times with factory boxed lowers & stock uppers, airbag LT & RT, pinion snubber, factory sway bar, a cheap set of adjustable shocks and 275 MT drag radials.

Forget about a pinion snubber!!! I think I've been talked into trying every stupid gimmick in the book on my 86 over the last 25 years of racing it.
You're already running a 4 link rear end, a pinion snubber is a total waste, been there, done that!! The only thing they're good for is unloading and stressing the rear linkeage when it's hit, and ends up hurting the launch way more than it helps.

Pinion snubbers were designed for leave spring cars. They have serious spring wrap on hard launches and can take advantage of a snubber.

Get air bags for the springs and boxed rear lower control arms, you'll be way ahead! 235 rears are pretty small!

Only thing the snubber is good for, is to keep the body off the tiress while your 300# MIL is in the trunk....

I just went through this myself. I had the extended pinion snubber on my car, and it would not let the suspension travel enough to keep the tires planted. Take the thing off. It wont hurt anything. It may even help.

Allright, thanks guys! Boxed lowers, tires and bags commin right up! :P Even if they only get me a 1.8 60ft, that should get me into the 11s I'm hopein. :D
