I would of been there but the day for registration thier website was down by the time it came back up late that afternoon they said they were already full. This was the way you were supposed to sign up so go figure.

Was thinking about going to watch but..
Six is enough, are you in the town of west or out west?

We only had one member from our entire Buick club get in to the event as far as I know. His name is Duke McClain. He has a very quick white T-Type that should be in the very low tens. It would be nice to see another Buick get in the show.

I was kicked in the nuts as usual because like many others who tried to get into the event, I followed the posted rules and stayed by the computer all day trying to register. I later read on some other car forums that they were calling in and not only registering themselves, but they were registering (multiple people) their friends as well. As a result, there should be plenty of Mustangs there.

yes, there were a lot of Mustangs. The white TBwas the only one. He didn't run his # early. The other white Regal was a v8 car. It was a lot of fun. 480 cars. The TB could not hook, that is why he didn't go quick enough..70 Chevy pu with a camper shell ran 10.2

If he could not hook, the track conditions must have really stank when he got his run in. His car will hook anywhere.

Word from the grapevine says that they picked cars in the 11 sec. range for the show tonight. Go figure since I could not get registered with Billy Meyer's Hal 1000. Can anyone here confirm this yet? Knowing that Duke is well faster than 11's, I guess he didn't have a chance to be picked.

Hi Dan ;)

Yep they picked a 11 sec class and boy the fans were not happy. I think the track was hooking fine, but the white T was really having some problems hooking it up.

Overall, it was a really nice day, but they were plauged with computer problems early on since they are doing something new this year. They only explained it once, but they were taking their test and tune 1/8th mile times, factoring in engine displacement, tire size, etc, to come up with some mathematical equation of what your car should run. The drivers only had seconds to know what they had to run, but the crowd couldn't see it. Finally, Rich started to call off the time they had to run, would have been nice to have a large screen to see what they had to run.

Good god the mustangs were out in force....and rich sure loved his mopars. Lots of S10 trucks running 9's and 10's.

My only disappointment was the huge delays. We didn't stick around for the final 16 because it was taking forever to get anything going, seemed a bit disorganized.
