has anyone had the same problems im haveing? tonight i drove my car into town, about a 40 min drive by interstate. the gn drove and ran out fine on the interstate. but once into town and into bumper to bumper traffic, red light stop and go, i noticed the car wasnt pulling its normal amount of vaccum it usually did, which is 16 in. hg. it was around 11 to 13 in. then the car started idling rough and it choked down, i couldnt get it started back so i then procceded to coast into a parking lot and let the car sit for about 40 min. i then tryed starting the car and it started right up and ran for about 4 more miles then it was the same thing all over again. as soon as i could get it to start again i tryed driveing it home. once i made it on the interstate after it cut off again i finally started back home. on the interstate it would cruse just fine. i could keep a constant 70 easy. once home i tryed flooring it and the car felt much weeker although it read 0 knock. please help me i have no clue where to start. thanks for any advise!!

You need to start by giving us some readings. Sounds like the idle air control valve is stuck since it only happens at idle. But What is the tps reading? Go down your scanner and write down what you see and post it up.

Post your Scanmaster readings at idle and cruising. Hopefully, we can help figure this out.

these are my readings after driving it around the block. i got on it twice in third. it had knock both times. so i let out both times. first it was at 3.3 retard degrees and the second time it had 6.6 retard degrees.

these are my readings in park once i got home..

BLM says your real rich. IAC should be lower also. Might want to pull the IAC clean it well and and also clean inside the port where it screws in with TB cleaner. Might have some gunk in there. Also pull your plugs...they might be fouled due to being rich and it loading up on you. Start there and let us know.

check pcv also, could be sucking in oil. so along with plugs, your Iac, pop your injector clips off one by one at idle and note any changes

You are describing the same situation I had once. Turned out to be a bad cam sensor. The cam sensor would kill the engine, and after short time, would start up and run for a while. Eventually, the car would not start at all.

When my car died when hot it was either Maf of Coilpac going out when hot.
Try to get readings when it starts choking & if the Maf is good, take a look at the coilpac. Open it up & look for goop starting to melt out!

MAF also went once. Car would start and run, but really rough Drove 20 miles to get a replacement and had to give it more pedal than normal just to keep it running.
Love this car!

I have seen a maf do this and it would read only one gram difference. I would borrow a maf and see if that does it. Also check your fuel pressure. Oxygen sensor too can cause thiss. When they fail they leave a lean signal to the ecm causing it to richen the mixture.

where could i buy or borrow a maf sensor to see if thats my problem. is there any kinda way to check the maf and see if its good? and the same with the coil pack is there a way to check them? a link with step by step instructions or alittle guidance would be very appreciated!!! i need all the help i can get
