Looking at these two wide band systems as I am swapping back to a stock ECM. Both look very good but what are the pros and cons of each. I will be mounting the gauge on the A pillar. Thanks for any advice.

I think it is just preference as there are users here using both successfully. I've been using the AEM for two years now.

I have used the PLX and it works nicely. The other I have used and I like the best is the innovate XD-16.

Personal opinion follows: PLX and AEM are both very high quality units, with very robust controllers. I use the PLX. Personally I wouldn't wish the Innovate wideband on my worst enemy. Very cheezy controller that is susceptable to interference and requires frequent recalibrations.

PLX here, been using it for over two seasons with no problems. Mine was under $185 shipped from a semi-local performance shop in PA. I didn't get a gauge, I tied mine into the PowerLogger as the PLX is compatible with a 3rd party datalogger. Works great and my WB readout is on the ScanMaster 2.2.

PLX here too. ScanMaster,PowerLogger and PLX O2 is an awesome tuning combo. The sky's the limit !

Do any of our vendors sell the PLX??? I try to support those who support us.

Would someone please post what the model number is of the PLX you are using?? Thanks Mike
Ps. Have a Inovate stand alone 16 that worked for about two weeks POS !!

AEM was easy to install. I got the Eugo one from turbo tweak which has the 2 1/16 gauge. It's all plug n play.

I have used both the PLX and the AEM Both work good and easy to install. But the AEM is super easy to install and there is no brain box. The brains are in the gauge. I changed from the PLX to AEM and I am happy with the change. But both work good.

SM-AFR is the basic model that doen't include the gauge. It's what to run if you have a Powerlogger with the Scanmaster 2.2 option. Your scanmaster becomes your wideband gauge.

I'm also planning to install a WB(leaning towards the PLX) in my GN & have a couple of questions...

I don't have a powerlogger or scanmaster 2.2(I've got a 2.1), so what model PLX, with what gauge would you recommend & where can I get the best price??
How hard is installation?

Running an aem ..works great very simple to install as said & gauge has three face colors and 2 bezels

x2 aem, VERY easy install with no box. And the gauge has all the outputs you need to run it to a powerlogger or ecu. Turbotweak also sells the same sensor wih a no gauge aem box if you don't want another gauge in the car for just output to powerlogger, etc. And TurboTweak is def a supporting vendor.

PTX M-300 Tuner Edition here.. Just recieved it a couple week ago. Little bigger than the scanmaster... Has all of the same features as the SM-AFR with a built in 4 digit display. All Sensor Modules are housed in high quality red aluminum case. Works with gasoline, bio diesel, ethanol, methanol, E85, LPG, and CNG.
