Sorry for the length, here's the deal: 1/8 mile

Last time out (April), I ran an 8.7@79, 2.0 60' on BFG Radials. Stock wastegate, RA93 chip(makes ~17lbs boost), and my mods below EXCEPT for porting elbow. No scanmaster at the time. Basically stock at this point.

Now, I have the scanmaster, Thrasher 92, and misc minor changes like the ported elbow, adjustable WG. Temps were easily 15 to 20 degrees cooler last night. I mixed a Xylene brew, and creeped the boost up to 21 lbs, no knock, O2's in the high 700's (lowest all night was 765 or so). Traction was a big problem, but I did manage a reasonable launch on my last run and did an 8.8@79, 2.0 60 ft. 21lbs!

I'm not expecting anything fantastic with street tires, but I was reasonably sure that I could trim my ET to about 8.5 with 21lbs as long as I could cut a 2.0 60'. It is possible that it was unusually humid, tho. Do you think the Thrasher had a big impact here? Any other thoughts?

Also, it seemed like I crept the boost up all night and never gained any ground. Run #2 was at about 18 lbs, also an 8.8@79????

Thanks.

I try not to base everything on one trip to the track, because there aren't enough data points. That said, I've never thought of the Thrasher 92 as a "fast" chip for the stock setup. With a T100 and 18 psi of boost, you'd see big change over the 92/93 chips. I really like the T92 for all around performance, but at the track it was never much faster than the stock chip.

Your mph will not come up until you run a chip with some timing. A Thrasher 100 pulls like a freight train compared to a Thrasher 92. They have no 3rd gear.

You should have stuck with the RA93, that has 20º vs ~ 17º for the Thrasher

My intention was to run both chips to make a comparison, but being the idiot I am, I left the RA93 at home.

Again, I wasn't expecting any miracles, especially with my traction limitations, but dammit I wanted to at least better my last times.

Thanks for the replies.

thrasher

I ran a thrasher 92 at the at the track last time out. my mph at the 1/8 was 80 and my mph at the end 96 I Probably have weak valve springs but that thrasher didn't help either. My car never like that thrasher..............................................

BTW. I added 5 gallons of 93 today and adjusted the boost back 1 lb. Made a single blast after the lines had time to purge, still no knock at 20lbs. I over octaned my trip to the track.

A Thrasher 100 probably would be great for you Scott, because it is great for xylene and is great for alky if you decide to get a kit in the future

Red also makes 100 chips
