It's done
Was a lot of work but worth the results

I find it strange someone wouldwant a popcorn ceiling in the garage. My house has it on the main floor. I considered scraping it at one point until I figured out an easy way to clean it. I used to hate it but it has grown on me over the years

One of those big feather dusters. Works great. I usually do the ceilings and the fans every spring. Probably should be done more often but no one ever notices it anyway.

Correction. Not a feather duster. Its just one of those large wand dusters that aren't good for anything else. Its a lot of work but I'd rather do that once in a while than try to scrape it off.

In my younger days, I worked in a wire factory for almost ten years. Used to run a machine that insulated wire with asbestos and then immersed it in a compound. Used to handle raw asbestos and put it on the part of the machine that spun it on to the wire. Sort of like a ferris wheel that spun as the wire was drawn thru it. After putting the asbestos roll on to it you pretty much wiped your hands together to get the fibers off them. No masks or any protection except for the covers over the ferris wheel contraption. So far no symptoms over 30 years later, hoping for the best.
