Building a motor an either want someone to do my stk heads an intake or buy some already done by someone else.. Was going to get a place here in Al called Bennette Racing to do mine but the wait is 4 months... Car will be a 10.60 -11.00 car when done so need some nice ones .. I know of the Champions but there is a wait there too. An it may be worth it.. But trying to get a opinion if anyone knows of other places.. Looking for full CNC larger valves, the whole shaaabang anport matched to intake with tower removed of course... Thanks

This is the place I plan to use. They were great in answering my questions. I will send them bare heads and it will cost $900, shipped back to my door, for the Stage 3 job. A few guys have used them with excellent results. I think anything will be much better than stock, but they were hard to beat for what you get for the price.

I know Tony as me and a few friends were the Ginnie pigs. He has been able to yield higher numbers on iron heads than most big name shops. He does a great job, priced right, quick turn-around, and a really good guy to deal with. You will also get some sweet heads from Nick ArizonaGN as well, he has some killer flow numbers also.

Yes thanks

I called up the shop there in jersey an talked with a real nice guy about the heads for the TR.. He seemed real confident in what he can do for me.. I like the Champions, an I think cause I see CNC in front of them I think they flow more then others. I think I may be mistaken, that hand port jobs can flow just as much without the added cost on CNC machining!!! Not sure haven't read enough on the topic butlike the 400+ savings of not having CNC heads if this is the way I choose..

I am sure others will disagree, however I had a set of GN1R heads full race port and fully ported irons. Yes the GN1R heads flowed a little more, not much. And the difference was 1k:eek:

I would do a set of ported irons and a stock ported intake to match any day of the week. You cannot believe the power that comes from a good set of flowing heads and Intake.

I look forward to finding out. I think the Stage 3 Ported heads will work well with the Master Power 60-1 Turbo I ordered.

Mine were bought outright, no exchanges. They were shipped immediatly as he usually has them ready to go. They have all the good proven parts, he's been around these cars since god created them:D

ok

I noticed that Greg Gessler does the turbo head too!!!!!!!! Have any of you guys run or know of anyone who has run these heads.. I think he holds the current record for a bias ply tire like 11.40 or something crazy. Saw him leave out last yr. on that small tire an was like WOW...

I can fully port&polish a set of heads with big valves for $950 and usually get 210-220 cfm on the intakes. It takes 2-4 weeks now turn around time. I can also get them CNC ported for you but it will cost you a good bit more. Thanks,Frank

Not too bad..

Thats about right in there with every one else... Whats the advantage of CNC ?? I know ther is one just not sure, is it more precise an generally the same contour on every port?? aren't there some ports that need a lil mopre work then others, an you still got to go back by hand an clean them up..So far Gessler has the best deal!!

Are you saying that you would have them CNC'd first and then do a hard port after that for Max flow..
Whats something like that cost, can pm me...:)

I understand the accuracy of CNC porting using a machine, but is it worth the extra $300 it would cost me for Champion heads on a street car? In my mind, I don't think so, but I could be wrong.

Hi,
Heads that are CNC ported are not neceserally better then hand ported heads.all CNC ported heads are not created equal.just like all hand ported heads are not equal.tony from VPE is the most meticulous hand porter you will ever find.he take alot of pride in his work and gives you a product that is second to none.and when i say none i mean NONE.i have seen him spend "alot" more time on a set of heads then would seem profitable just to make sure they are what he would consider "perfect".i highly doubt anyone could get any more out of stock heads then he can.the heads of every engine i build are done by him and perform excellent.im not saying in any way that others do not give a great product.i just feel his are the best.ill be happy to answer any more questions.

Nick,

p.s. a set of these heads are on the fastest stock block car with pump gas and alcohol in the country;)

OK

Any of you previous guys have a pic of some of Tonys stage 3 head work. He was supposed to send some this morning !! I think Arizona GN///Gessler///Tony's heads are probaly all great heads.. An they are all in about the same ballpark price wise. Just trying to compare my options..

I'm very happy with my VPE heads
I have some pictures, some are not the greatest, I do not know how to put them on here, but if you e-mail me ,I know I can send them that way. albinoss@yahoo.com
