I have a Tubonetics t-70 bb ar. .82 that I want to port and polish, a good internal clean-up and are there any areas that need machining or special attention in grinding-porting, Also what special tools and stuff are needed to do this? Thanks Jeff

summit carries port polish tool kit, grinding bits etc sanding bits
I use a dremel tool work good

Alan

Thanks Alan, I just finished porting and polishing it and both the exhaust and intake housings inside are smooth as glass, I can see my reflection in them. Truly the airflow gods have smiled on this turbo :D :D  :cool JEFF

Did you remove much material or just polish up the inside?
Any pics?

The inside surface is left as cast . It is really rough if its going to pass alot of air . Just removing that took off at least .020-.025 , and then removed another .015 or so to clean up any pits or blems , so yes to the tune of around .045 all the way around the circumference, . Some machining also was done to the backing plate behind the intake inducer, and radiusing some sharp corners. If you get real quiet, you can hear the whir of dremels all across the country side right about now  ;)

Be sure not to change or remove any alum going into the intake side and around the radius where the blades fit close . All you want to do there is smooth that and polish it. You could srew it up in that area
