to know my RPM power band I take my new build combo to a dyno , I found that what they tell you to shift at -based on cam specs - is a lot of times way off

A dyno will help you determin this however I would think around 5600-5800 would work well

That's what I was thinking as well but wasn't sure as a buddy thought 6200 and I thought that was hi.

You wont get 6200 with any boost and stock diameter springs. 5700 or so. What springs?

lol rev it!!!

I aim for 6000 rpm with a 210/210 roller. Your cam will rev and make power.. depending on your springs.

Some say I should shift out at 5200-5500...haha Your friend is right on... I'd aim for 6000-6200 if you have the spring.

I believe these are the springs K Motion #571-K-750. They came from Tom @ Champion set up for my combo

I am running a similar spring. I would aim for 6200 rpm. Mine does best when shift at 6100-6200rpm. When I shift manually at 61-6200 rpm she drops to 5200rpm... I really like it. Stays in the power zone the longest.

When I had a loose tc I would shift out earlier because the rpm doesn't drop as much. Now I run a tight converter for my street car.

Sounds good. I'm going with a PTC 10" L/U and this too will mostly be a street car. I'll probably make 5-10 passes a year... Building for 9 second range power & tuning for 10's at least that's the plan! We all know how these things can turn out

..

I would contact Dusty about his 10" . If I am not mistaken the 10" is good down to the low low 11's but some have run 10's. Dusty is the man!

I doubt you will get much over 6000 with those with the boost turned up. Very similar to comp 941. Probably better to keep them at 5800 or less. Id also shim to about .030 form coil bind and change them out every year. If you want to go over 6000 and have the springs last a while with the hyd cam use 26120's. You may need the Jesel style rocker setup to run them though.`
