power steering pump going?

have what sounds to be a power steering pump going bad but wanted to see if someone else who has had one go has had similiar noises. there is no noise when first started but once you turn the wheel it makes a metal grinding squiling noise. I opened up the resevoir and it is full and was swirling around with small bubbles as i had a friend turn the wheel back and forth. the noise happens when turning and sometimes just going straight. is this the pump or should i look at something else also just in case before i shell out the $$$$$ for a new pump,belt, and hose. thanks mike.

I would have to say a pump is needed. The growl that happens when it is warm is usually from when the pump has been run dry.
Check thoroughly for leaks after the new pump gets put on.

well my issue has been resolved. went to a cruise night last week and the pump pukes all over the asphalt, good new thought no noise driving it home LOL. so now i have a new one coming from gm. thanks mike.
