From the gear to the reservoir hose.

Mines leaking at the fitting. :frown:

Are they a simple flare or is there an O-ring on them?

I guess it's an 18mm wrench size?

Anyone know a vendor that sells them?

Is there a simple fix such as a 3/8" flared repair end with some power steering hose I can do?

Off to Kirbans site to look now.

Rock auto only had the line with no fittings bulk line...

Anyone know the GM part number?

TIA

All they list is bulk hose like Rock Auto.

No fitting end which I need and need to know what's on it hopefully before I remove/replace it. :)

Any links would be appreciated or a part number.

They don't have the complete hose but luckily I don't need the fitting, it has an O-ring on it that is shot most likely from running with only 1 bolt in the pump for about 5 months which caused excess vibration and was the source of last years squeaky belt.

Here's the hose I'm talking about from the gear box to the reservoir.

That 13" piece of high temp. GM hose would be nice and it's only 2.95.

Gotta find some locally hopefully along with that O ring.

Anyone know a place to source those, gonna try the local dealer tomorrow.

Looks to be 5/16" not sure of the thickness since mine is square now.

Most automotive stores carry assortment packs of O-rings if you can't find the exact size at a dealer.

Looking here:

Mc Nally Institute

it looks like viton is a good O-ring material for most oils.

Another source is McMaster Carr if you know the size.

Lucky for me, mine leaked from under the clamps and I was able to just replace my hoses with new ones.

Turns out it wasn't the O-ring after all it was a small groove worn into the pipe just above the fitting that made it look like the fitting was leaking at the O-ring.

3 times taking it apart and 3 O-rings later I found the hole. :p

Silver soldered it up and filed it smooth and all is well.

Never leave the frame bracket on the vent line when installing a Kenne Bell charcoal cannister relocation kit as it may wedge itself between that vent metal line and the power steering line and 20 years later cut a tiny hole in it.

New hose was a 4 ft. piece of NAPA power steering line, yeah plenty of spare hose, part number 7-1213.

Metal fitting for that return pipe is discontinued from GM. :frown:

O-ring is GM 26001594 which should be in a package of (10) for about $7.

I paid almost that for one at the local Chebby dealer but that's another long sad story but at least they had them.

O-ring size measured from the GM one is 7/16" OD, 5/16" ID, and 1/16" thickness which is the same I believe as on the fuel filter fitting.

The NAPA O-ring assortment which are viton rings good for fuel as well is part number 605-1341 on the rotating rack out in the store which includes that size.

For future reference, it looks like the fuel line. You can pick that up at Advance.
