Powerlogger port erros

I installed PL on my laptop last night and tried it on my car for the first time and the PL was unable to connect and I got a "port" errors. I followed the directions in the manual but I did get an error when I was loading the "XP and 2000" drivers. Anyway have a way to clear this problem up? Thanks

reinstall the drivers from the device manager, upgrade to newest version after that.
