I'm hoping someone can save me some money over the $200 repro unit...looking for a PM brake accumulator ball for an '86 GN. Mine is dying. Maybe someone did the vacuum brake conversion and has a good accumulator lying around? Please let me know. Thank you!

The unit that Kirban sells ($200 ?) Is the best available! They have suffered no failures since introduced! Go any other route and you're asking for trouble.

^^^Agree. Given how fickle the PM can be to begin with the last thing you want to do is start throwing unknown used parts at it. If it ever fails while you're driving you'll wish you had bought new. Nice car by the way. Always liked the look of polished Centerlines on a GN..

Thanks, 626gn & Dave. So the Kirban unit is better than OEM? Because from what I've read, the OEM units only last 3 - 5 years.

And you would trust a used one to last .......how long?(n)

I have two (working when replaced) sitting somewhere. You pay the ride and one is yours.

Really it mainly depends on how clean you keep the brake fluid. I have one on my GN that's been there for 14 years and I still have nice brakes. There's only one and one only aftermarket unit that every body sells and it's the Cardone unit and Iv'e heard of no failures. Buy one and your good to go.

Agree. Changing the fluid at least once a year is the single most important thing you can do to keep the PM happy. I changed mine every 6 months along with the engine oil for years and mine still went out.

I have a complete used unit as well if interested complete original unit with the long correct brake pedal I do believe the brake switch is iffy on it I would replace that but the motor and accumulator ball is fine pulled about 3 years ago. PM me if you want it thanks.

I have a complete Powermaster and GN pedal I will sell, I just finished my Vacuum conversion , my PM system was working but the electric pump would run all the time , not sure if it was the accumulator or what , it come off a 80k 87
