OK long story short, had a big problem happen. driving my gn spinning it at about 7krpm, ran out of oil....
, yea i know stupid me.... but it wasn't completely all my fault. well anyways, lucky didn't lock motor up, cam sized and broke timing chain first...
. after about $4,000 in parts to fix everything and get a rebuild im left with the question did my turbo survive? it looks OK very little shaft play and spins fine.
but how would i know for sure??
it was hooked to a turbo saver, don't know if that would help with low oil besides the fact that the filter will hold some oil in it. maybe it saved the turbo??
but i dont know how to tell if its ok, or should i break and spend the money and send it to precision?? or if anyone knows a good place that rebuilds them in TX???
trying to save at least a lil bit of money. my girls yelling at me putting money in the car lol
.
any advice would be a big help!
