What kind of performance gain can one expect with the precision stock loc. intercooler. I just installed one on my car with a new TE60 turbo. Also any fitting problems you guys and gals may have had.

My intercooler didn't seem to fit the best. The bracket that bolts onto the front cover and the bottom stud for the factory intercooler bracket had to be modified a little. Now the intercooler shroud seems to be vibrating against something and I can't figure out what.

I went from a entirely stock set-up to this new ic and turbo.

This i/c is huge. Had to remove my cooling fan before I could install it. The main bracket also rubs on the factory oil cooler lines.

Other than that I've noticed a pretty good increase in power don't know what it'll run yet but hopefully soon.

With my stock setup in ran 12.30's @109 mph

So you are going from stock I/C and Turbo to what you listed?

If so you should see a big difference. I'd say 100hp or more easy!

The biggest thing you will notice is spool up imporvements. The stock IC has a 4-5lb boost restriction. So if you have a manual boost controller, you boost should be 4-5lbs more than it is now. Which will create less heat too. If you ran a stock IC at 22lbs and ran an upgraded IC at 22lbs. I do not think you will see a big gain. But the car will spool and run much better with the upgraded IC. My buddy picked up about a .10.-.20 running the same boost levels with a V4 compared to bone stock IC. It was a stock motored car. I am sure it is a whole different ball game if you have a built motor. My $.02.

Motors pretty much stock with the exception of a 210-205 camshaft., RJC power plate. Stock heads, intake..

I also have one problem with the I/C the up pipe rubs on the hood insulation. Here's some pics.

Yeah I know whats that on the up pipe?? Its a trusty cable tie as my cold air kit has not been installed yet..

As you can see from the one pic. the coolant fan almost touches the I/C shroud. It was pretty tight.

Rubbing is normal. I bet your vacume block puts an imprint in your liner also. Comes with the territiory. Brian

Same with mine:biggrin:

Oh you mean like this?

I only hope someone reproduces the hood liner pad with the correct vinyl lettering one day.
