I’ve been using a John’s Performance oil return line for a while with a Turbonetics 66. I’ve never had problem with smoking after a 26# blast. I believe the Turbonetics have a built in oil restrictor? I’ve now switched to a precision turbo. Not every time but sometimes after a WOT blast the turbo, a little, fogs for mosquitoes. I’ve been told my return line is suspect. Who makes a proven return line?

I have that same return line, never had a problem with it, has drained a PT51, PT61 and now a BB CEA6466. Do you have the restrictor on the inlet?

Here's a pic, my Precision included this fitting with a warning about the restrictor. In the pic, you can also see my drain hose that is the same as the one you have

Edit (on a journal bearing turbo, you shouldn't need the restrictor on the inlet) but the return line shouldn't be the problem

Looking for some real world info. Anyone can google.
OK this will not make any sense but hear me out..When I first went to a new 6765 I had the same issue.
I went from a #6 input line to a #4.. Because you have a restrictor this shouldn't matter. But for some reason the laws of whatever seem to not apply.
But it cleared up and all is well.

I have a precision journal bearing, no restrictor needed or being used.

Input? Please re-read I'm talking about the return.

Your return line is not your issue.... Put a restricter on the feed line to limit the amount of oil that the turbo see's and that will cure your smoking issue, "IF" in fact it is your turbo that is causing this issue. Could be valve seals or rings too.

Wait...I see what you're saying. Where did you get the smaller feed?

I had one laying around......but as Mike stated above you might be easier to try a restricter first.
