Premature Up-shifts

Here's one for you experts! When my We-4 gets warmed up after a few miles I notice that driving in town at mild acceleration that the tranny shifts up very quickly and bogs down because of it.

However, under boost conditions, the car holds each gear properly and shifts crisply at high RPM's.

Could my testa chip be doing this?

I service the trans at it's proper intervals.

This problem just started happening........

Exactly

Jim this is EXACTLY what is going on...But I did have solenoid replaced and the downshift woes are now GONE .......But the car still upshifts prematurely.

I will do the prescribed test he mentions of tapping brakes while at 50mph in OD and see if TC comes out of lock up.
