Pressure Regulator problem?

Any load on throttle, any gear, I get a weird noise and the pressure drops about 25 psi during the noise. Its like every 2 seconds on light to moderate acceleration and lasts about 2 seconds. Longer if WOT. Cruise or coast its fine. I checked the press reg. At the top the PR valve kinda catches on something if I turn it just right. Is this the problem? What could be catching it? Should it seat solid and smooth at the top? I tried another valve, same problem. Thanx

Can you describe the noise and where you think it is coming from? Your fuel pump is working fine? Have you tried putting a demand on the pump and seeing if under boost the fuel pressure is increasing proportionally together with the boost?
