Problem with my DSM...HELP!

Ok guys, I'm stumped.

Car cut power as I was driving down the road at about 45mph and wouldn't restart. It's a 95 fwd talon tsi with 59k miles on it and is bone stock. I took it to the shop and my mech said that the front cover is chewed up, but the timing belt is still in time (having belts replaced). He seems to think that the headgasket was blown. There is no compression on all cylinders. He asked if it overboosted and overheated which it didn't do. Boost is stock and has never been messed with.

What happened?

Brad, It's been a while. Sorry to hear about the DSM, I figured you killed it with too much of that mountain brew, opps did I say that out loud, or is that only for the GN, hehe, jk buddy. Those damn DSM's and there mystifying ways. Sounds like the problem was there but since you baby that car it did not surface until it was ready to come apart and then just shut down completely as a safety measure to prevent any further damage. So are you driving the beast daily till the repairs are through?

Doesnt sound good with no compression on ANY cylinder.If it was the headgasket,id like to see pics cause it must not even have one nowOnly one way to tell

I took the eagle to Jeff on saturday, and it looks like I'm in for $1600 to start off with. Thats for all new belts (damn multi-cams), gaskets, water pump, covers, valve job etc.

Yep, the GN is on the road. I haven't played with it much lately, so I guess its good to get it out and run it a little.

Are you still in school? How's everything else going?
