Okay, things are coming down to the wire for the availability of OGS's propane kit. Pricing should be finalized this week and it should come in under the $599.00 price I was tossing around earlier. When the pricing is finalized, OGS will be start taking preorders immediatley thereafter so expect to be able to preorder at the end of this week.

Now, on to my question. We are toying with the idea of using an entry point that for some people could be almost completely hidden. Mainly it will depend on the type of intercooler you use but in a nutshell anyone with a front mount could have the kit almost completely hidden under the hood (Wire loom NOT included). The downside is that it will be more difficult to adjust the jet sizing (Yes, we are using jets). Those with stock location intercoolers can stealth it up some but not as much as the front mount guys.

So, Id like to ask people to vote yay or nay on the hidden option. The outcome has a direct effect on the price. It's cheaper to use this method than it is a conventional nozzle so before we go this way, we would like to check the pulse of the Buick world on the subject.

If you go to a FACTORY stealth location, anyone in the know will know where to look. For those that really want stealth, they'll be clever enough to hide it anyway. And now a days the hey look at me installation stuff seems popular.

87 GN,
that it's as, it appears.

Hey Jay, was there ever any thought to a plate style injection like a fog plate for the propane?

I like the hidden idea and I have a V2.
It sounds like it does not matter if the propane travels from the beginning of the up pipe to the tb, unlike alky which is very close to the tb in the up pipe.

Did the plate thing. Doesn't work :)

If you arent interested in top quality, there are plenty of other options available to you. We have gone to great lengths to make sure that we used the best of the best in this kit and I expect no one to be disappointed from the quality. If the price is too high for you, build your own or buy one from one of the other people selling kits. You get what you pay for.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Almost everything we're using is a custom made piece. The solenoid is custom, the regulator is custom, the electronics are custom, the mounting bracket is custom, the hoses are custom made. That stuff ain't cheap. Even buying in quantities of 25ea on parts to assemble the kits, we have more in our kits than what IPO's kit sells for to the public.

I'm not trying to slight IPO in any way, I'm simply using that for comparison sake. Everyone has their own idea about what works and when I started this deal, I said I was going to build the best damn system out there and I think that this is it.

I have Jay's alky kit and I have no doubt you will get what you pay for with the propane deal. I voted for stealth. What they cant see wont hurt them and once the kit is dialed in I doubt there will be much jet changing, maybe for temperature extremes and thats about it.

Thats true and you can actually trim it inside the car with the electronics.

Jay,
What all will be coming in the $599 kit?
Any pictures?
If the electronics aren't included in the kit, what will it cost?

Gary

Jay,I'm sure you have been asked already, but will this kit work with the 84-85 cars? If not, do you plan on making a revised kit for them? thanks.

The kit isn't going to be $599.00. That was the price I had originally tossed out there but we managed to get some stuff cheaper so the kit will be a little cheaper. Final pricing should be set this week like I posted before.

As for the hot air cars.. hmmm.. In it's current state, no, it won't work on a hotair car. However, it should be really easy to swap a couple of pieces out and fix that problem. If you wanted to try putting the propane in before the turbo, you could use the kit as is and that would probably actually work the best. If you want to put it in after the turbo in the compressor outlet it would take some different pieces.

Finally, here's what the kit includes.

DOT certified propane tank
Tank mounting bracket
Ultra high pressure regulator with dual gauges, 1 for inlet pressure and 1 for outlet pressure.
17 feet of -4 steel braided TFE line
High flow solenoid valve
Cockpit mountable electronics that control turn on point and solenoid pulse width
Misc fittings, jets, etc

Hopefully that's everything. I just woke up so if I missed something, cut me some slack :)

Please e-me the price and where to send money for my preorder.
Thanks I have wanted to do this for years.

I believe final pricing has been set. Looks like the total is going to be $570.00. This is everything you need to get up and going short of filling the tank.

Dan is working on the preorder page now and since he is a paid advertiser here Im sure he or I will be posting something when he's ready to go. He told me yesterday he just had a small amount of stuff to finish up on the preorder page so I expect it to be done today or tomorrow.

You know I appreciate your concern with the buick and all but dont forget about the other american made turbo 6 :D Im sure there would be a few syclone and typhoon guys who would be more than interested in this kit.

Jay

just went to the webpage you have a link to and saw a dyno ticket from Garland. Are you located here in Dallas??

Yes, Im in North Dallas.

And BTW, our kit should work equally well on the Sy/Ty's. It's pretty universal and was done that way on purpose.

Actually it wont. All kits are shipped out of Pennsylvania.

We mainly go to Redline and Denton. We don't venture to the Motorplex very often. Scott's car is set up to run King Of The Hill so it really isn't geared for 1/4 mile.

so no pics of the electronics and the system yet?
also, interested in use for the syty.:D
