I love my PT-68, yes 68  . When I bought it, I was told by Precision that it was one of the first 68's for our TR. I am sure there is not that big of a difference in the 67 and 68, if this is truely a 68 ;) . Anyway, I had a TE44 before and let me tell ya, what a difference! I run 18lbs. with alky on the street and use to run 26 lbs. w/alky on the 44. Night and day! A little longer time to spool, but the power is amazing! I do not have numbers yet because I kept blowing off an intercooler hose, but it felt like an awesome run. My converter is too small right now and I think a 3500-3600 is perfect. Hopefully I can get track time soon. Here it is so please let me know if I am crazy!

Totally with you on this one. I have been running my GT67P for a few weeks now. Even with the stock D5 converter it was brutal on the street. My setup is a RJC Hybrid Boost Controller and Razor's kit at 24lbs boost. It has instant jailtime potential.
I just installed my new 3600 stall and new ATR crossflow exhaust this weekend. I am just itching to give it a blast when the rain stops.

that looks like a clean turbo install! How is it now with your 3600 and ATR pipes? I too run a 3600, so im very interested in first hand opinions.

As I stated in my previous post. I ran the stock D5 for a couple of weeks after the GT67P went on. I have since had a TCS 9x11 Torque Converter with Billet Cover (3600 stall) and a hardened transmission installed. I drove it home last night for the first time with the new ATR crossflow and converter. Anyway, driving home I was very pleasantly surprised. It ran like a stocker and was very street friendly. That is until you get on it. Then all hell breaks loose. I also have been using a RJC Hybrid Boost Controller set at 24 lbs. Even though I had little or no knock, I turned it down to about 20. Now it is always zero. This turbo pulls very hard at low boost. I love it. The ATR exhaust sounds a bit like a bumble bee on steroids, but I am getting used to it. Unlike most, my engine is a factory sealed longblock with Mototron 65lb injectors and all the support stuff including Julio's Alky kit. I have been told that a new set of heads or a port job would really wake this turbo up, but for the moment I am fine with the performance level I get now. The engine will probably be replaced with a stouter unit at some point soon, but until then I will see what it will take or maybe wait for a good deal on a built engine.

Rumor has it PTE sells a dual ball bearing version of the 67 which would take only a 3200 stall...OH WAIT it's not a rumor it's true!

We had one on display at the Indy event and someone bought it. I can build more if you guys really want one? It's only going to be MY next turbo soon :)

The only drawback is I don't have a water line kit made for it yet...but it's in the works. Until then you can either make your own or buy our universal kit and make it work.

Just my opinion.....but if you are going with a 67 I would stay with the P trim exhaust wheel. No reason to go with the GTQ. If you want more flow, then go GT70 P-trim. That is what I am using and it only spools slightly slower than the 67 I had on before.

What exactly is your goal ? You mention running 10's.....well you can do it easily with a 67 P trim and max ported heads. The 218 cam is a little large for a street car IMO....but I like tighter converters and good bottom end torque.

The GTQ is not offered with a DBB option yet, so you can only run the p-trim with that combination. A 67/p is more then enough for going well into the 10's though and no need to add extra lag if its not needed.

I don't think Don mentioned the DBB with a GTQ turbine. They have the DBB with the P-trim, unless they are now starting to either turn the shafts down or have larger bore bearings. I'm sure Don will chime in....

check the thread going on that I started...I've explained what's going on there :)

67 with 3500 stall is so nice will add alky kit soon (oh great tread)

I was never overly thrilled with the 67...but my heads were not as hogged as they are now so maybe that is why ? Either way....the car now makes HUGE power with a Limit GT70 P-trim :D

If Garret was only offering the 70 in a DBB.... :D

So does the PT-67 make the same power at 24psi as a 45a does at 28 or so? Reason im asking is because Limit wants 750 to rebuild my 45, but if I can get a 67 and make the same power at 24psi I'd pay the little extra for the brand new PT67.

Don Palumbo needs to chime in. His 67 went several 10.0's on his way to winning TSM at BG this year.

Here Is Some Qoute From Supraforums 67 IS THE #1 USED TURBO

ALL QOUTES FROM ANOTHER FORUM

I have a 93.5 MKIV with around 100K on the ticker and I just upgraded to a single with a PTE 67 providing the motivation. I went into this install thinking that I would be able to get 480 to 500+ rwhp on stock fuel pretty easy.

The tuner tuned my car to 15 psi and got 435 rwhp from it and the duty cycle was a ****ping 95% at this point

The numbers seem right. Most people get about ~500 18psi so at 15 psi, it seems about right. You need to either upgrade your fuel system or get a methanol water injection system. It also depends on your housing, is it a 0.68 or 0.81? I just had a T66 installed with a 0.7 housing and it pretty much has identical numbers to a T67 with a 0.68. And my tuner has safely tuned to 25psi with a complete stock fuel system using a Snowperformance meth/water kit. And we still have fuel left to spare. It also depends on how aggressive your AEM tune is. A 2 degree in timing up or down could be a 30rwhp difference.

PT67 All the way

WOW thanks for the replies! this turbo does seem bad ass!

pt-67dbb p trim .81 seems like it might be my ticket!

So the supra guys like this turbo aye? Im surprised that I for once actually agree with them on somthing to buy. Funny how those supra owners spend only 1400$ on a turbo yet go spend 3k on a gay wide body kit rofl! But i only hate those guys cus their rediculously rich, and just throw money at their problems. But if the rich guys are using this turbo and loving it, that is definitly a good sign!!

a 67 bb with an .81 or .85 housing and my 3500 stall may work out nice on the street. Sounds like Dark Side has a great idea, a lil more top end always helps.

ive always really liked those 1/4 mile runs where it sounds like the car lags a lil off the line then boost kicks in and its hold on time time! Then you read their 10 second time slip and see a 1.7 60' and he's all smiles! Yea definitly sounds like bb .81 housing would be perfect! Don you do realize im going to be calling you very soon  Waiting on grades and scholarship results, if DarkSide was a good boy last semester and pulled grades, DarkSide gets scholarship money :D! Ill know in less then 2 weeks :D :D :D!!!
