Looking for low 11's,will a 54 get me there? What injectors and TC?I was thinking 50's and 9/11 3000-3200 stall L-U.Or would a te60 be better? The car will be on the street most of the time.I have 009's currently, will they work with a 54 or 60 turbo, would hate to run out of injector.Any input would be GREAT!!! thanX!!

A 60 is a couple steps smaller than the 54. I've seen guys running 10.50s with a 54. I'd look at the new 57 injectors. I think there's another bigger high imp injector also. I wouldn't go with anything lower than a 3200 stall.

A 54 is equal to a 61; the 62 has a P trim turbine which is one step bigger. I ran one for about 4 years and loved it. First 3 yrs were with a modified stock 2800 stall 12" converter and that isn't enough. From a dead idle the boost would crawl to 5, gently rise to 10, then snap on around to 20+ about 1 second before the 1-2 shift (2.4 60's). I went to a Yank converter, about 3200 stall (27-2800 rpm at zero psi boost) and it spooled like crazy. From a dead idle the boost would be 20+ before the car moved 5 feet. A friend ran one with an Art Carr 16930 3000 stall and his spooled the same way, so I really don't think you should go looser than 3000 stall (why give up the top end?). If you start tuning for pump gas 93 octane then 50's won't be enough injector, and 60's will be barely enough. At the track on race gas with higher timing the 50's will be close to maxed out. I believe in having more injector than turbo so I'd go at least to the high impedance 57's, or to the high impedance 60's.

Is a 54 that much bigger then a 53??? I have a 53 with a PTE exhaust housing (.63), and a STOCK D5...It's alittle sluggish, but nothing like what you are describing, livable at least.

Going from a 53 to a 54 is the same wheel change as going from a 49/44 to a 60. I've never laid hands on a 53 or ridden in a car with one so I can't say from firsthand experience but I have ridden in a friend's car who went from a 49 to a 60 and it was a big step.

I just finally put my pts 9x11 in for my PT54 with about a 3400-3500 stall. Its like night and day difference. Spools quick and hard now. I LOVE IT. Whats a good boost range for a pt54 on 100 octane with 55's.

The PT54 is a pretty sweet turbo indeed.
With 100 octane and 55's, it really depends on intercooler and what heads you're running. IE: Front Mounts typically allow more boost to be run than a stock location and Aluminum heads also greatly help. Way back in '99 when I was daily driving my Limited, it was a stock motor with M&A Aluminum heads, TE45 and an old Duttweiller Front Mount. On 93 octane with a custom chip by Joe, I could safely run 20-21psi all day long.
Safely I'd say start with 20psi and work up to 24-25 range. Definately make sure to upgrade the chip as well.

A very common mistake people make now days is trying to run higher than 93 octane boost levels, (Ex:18-20psi) by simply throwing in some higher octane gas and not changing the chip.
This is a big no no. Street chips typically only have about 70-75% fueling under WOT conditions. With a Race chip (Joe's for example) Fueling under WOT can be anywhere from 90-95% duty cycle, which is what we need for higher than 93 octane boost levels.
Just start out slow and keep an eye on your O2s and knock retard.
Hope this helps a little.

Beecha91,

With GT-100 I can safely run about 19 to 20 psi with GN1s and a PTE FM. At the track on C16 I have seen boost creep to 24PSI with zero knock. I typically tune for zero knock and pretty low EGTs to be safe. I can run 11:25 to 11:40 all day at these levels with a 6 psi launch on BFG DR. Any harder of a launch and my times go up. This is with 50s at 42PSI hose off. HTH

With a 28in slick I am hoping for a 10.9X running out of injector
