It was ok for me, I ended upgrading it to a stealth 70.

Mine works great on a stock motor car. Harry at PTE recomended it to me when I bought it in '98. Still works great.

I had this turbo on mine, it started smoking so I'm getting it re-built. I put on a CPT66 and it doesn't seem as strong as the T63E. Phil

I've searched around a little bit, what's the general consensus on this turbo?

I went 7.1-7.2 @ 97 in the 1/8 on pump 93 gas and no alky @16# with one on a stock block 4.1 with a 218/218 flat tappet hydraulic cam,ported stock heads,3200 stall.Spooled fast as s**t.

Went 127.5 mph in the 1/4 on 20# and hurt the trans still went 11.2s though (what it did on 93 @16# but mph different.):)

I loved that turbo!

I had one spooled crazy fast! Had GN-1'S 212-212 flat tappet, pte ft mount, etc. mph 126- now have 70-p-trim BB with much more top end!

How do you think it'd do with my current combo? I have a 3200 converter, and big valve ported irons as well as the stuff in my sig. Thanks

It will work just fine. I have a similiar combo. And yes, turn the 'way back' clock to the 90s...and the 63 was da bomb. I will stick with the 63 to try to go 'consistent' tens this year...

It will work great.

Dont even try more than 1/2 throttle on plain radials,I am talking laying stripes at highway speed.I could light them up at 60 mph easy.

I Love My 63

I went 11.07 at 122mph on about 20 pounds of boost with the current setup in the sig. The best part is that the 60 ft is very respectable and that was done on a 3200 precision stall off the footbrake leaving on 1 pound of boost. So spooling up is not an issue. Its a bigshaft turbo so it will take more abuse than other smaller turbos.

I had similar times in the eighth mile with a te-63. Had a GN that went 7.21 @ 96 with only 18# of boost on a stock block with stock ported irons. I would definitely recommend this turbo..:D

Went 11.20's with the one I had (Got the combo from Jack Cotton.) on 20-lbs and a 206/206 cam, stock heads and a Vigilante convertor. Swapped on a set of ported heads and whaa-llaaa instant 10.9x's fastest being a 10.89 with the fastest trap being 127-mph before swapping to a TE63-1. I miss that turbo sometimes.

Yeah, that's what I am talking about ! So get turbo and report back!

I'm looking forward to running mine on my new motor (haven't run either yet).
It's straight out of 1997 from PTE. Has a 3" inlet with 2.5" outlet, .82 exhaust housing if I remember correctly. My 2800 stall 9/11 might be a little tight, but it's going to have to do for now.

uh huh. Another guy running an ol' timer 'classic' combo. Yeah baby! ;)

I'm still using my old PT63e. Heavy car w/steel heads. I know it has more left in it.
