I can pick one up locally NEW for $650. It's such a good deal, should I just go with it? Would it work well with my combo? I was leaning torward the 71 HPS ($800 more) but is it going to make that much of a difference? Street car. Thanks!

Here are the specs...

Precision 7168 GTQ TRIM Billet Compressor Turbo
rated at 945HP
71mm compressor and 68mm turbine wheel
HP Cover with anit-surge porting
4 inch inlet 3 inch outlet
81A/R exhaust housing standard T4 flange
zero miles on turbo

Sounds like an excellent deal for you if have the proper converter to go with it like a 4-4500 stall.

That's a good deal! I have a junior build of yours. 247"(109), T/A S/E race port hds, 212/212 roller, etc, I have the 71 GTQ 3 bolt coupled w/3500 neal chance converter and yes it has a lag when kicked down in a roll on the street. From a red light and a chance to build a little boost:eek:!!!!! If you are looking for instant power, It would require a shot of nos! or a higher stall:frown:. I just purchased a T-ntics hp-76 4 bolt b/b(used), last month but I'm saving it for the rebuild. so no help there.
The question will be, can you live w/the lag? Also, higher compression helps on the street. I 'm @ 7.8:1:redface: w/the 55cc heads.

OK, I picked this turbo up today and it looks really good but...................................after inspecting the compressor housing after I got home it says 7180HPS. :D ,...............and he took $550.

The 80 is basically the older version of the 68 wheel.
It should be very similar.

Thanks for the info! So do I still need a 4000-4500 stall to run on the street?

Talk to Patrick at PTE, but he rates the Journal Bearing at 3800 min stall.
I had a 4200 stall with my 70 P trim and 3.8 back in the stone ages.
I could have gone tighter.
With extra cubes and compression I would hope you could do it around 4k.
Who is doing your converter?
I recommend speaking to Dusty Bradford.
