The trans you sent my Father(Frank Thomas) last week is in and running perfect! He has owned his T-Type since 86 and has been ripped off by alot of scammers I sold him on your trans service and you came thru in flying colors!! and if he bugged you alot about when it was going to be ready, I apologize he is very impatient. But he is very happy now. after going thru triple bypass last month he needed this. Thanks! for anyone needing the best and most Honest trans service availible I would highly recomend you.
oh and BTW he took your advise and bought a Monte Carlo ss Crossmember it installed just fine. wonder why Buick didnt do this in the 1st place?He couldnt remember what year SS it was for, I would like to get one for my GN as well, if you could, please let me know which one I need to ask for.

why do you like the v8 crossmember?
i realize it takes a centered mount so you can get a polly mount and it bolts solid to the frame to do away with the rubber mounts but what i like about the v6 o/d crossmember is you dont have to pull it out to take the tranny out i jack the tranny pull the mount out and set it down so i can get to all the bellhousing bolts then drop the tranny off the motor a couple inches to get to the cooler lines then slide the tail shft to the drivers side alil and it comes out by the crossmember without even loosening it up from the frame.

with the v8 one the pad for the tranny mount would be in the way and the crossmember would have to come out.

in the regal im putting together now im going to the v8 one and polly mount so that the crossmember can be an extra frame support being solid mounted.

am i missing any other reason to use one.

and v8 cutlass with 2004r is same as ss right?

Run the centered one if you can. It is where the load is equalled. As for the rubber "sandwiches" I grind out the v8 one and reuse them. I would much rather have it centered. However this from a guy who likes liver and onions so to ones his own. As far as removing the trans, well Red most only do it once :D heheheheh BT
 
:p who only pulls there tranny out once?

nothing to do with the tranny itself i wasted 2 D5 converters and then when to your 12" then stepped up to the 9-11 so thats a few pulls right there before we get into front seals blowing out and we not talking about other problems..:D
 
HI, from this thread do I understand correctly that there isn't an upgrade (poly or something else) for the rear mount. I just had to replace two and couldn't believe they had hollow centers. I'm sure they'll be gone soon too and hoped I could find an upgrade - thanks.
 
yes there is an upgrade and utilizes a poly mount. A ss monte carlo crossmember will allow this. BT

We do carry an upgrade poly trans mount for the off center crossmember.
