Pump stator replacement...

I just installed hardened stator in a pump with a press. Before I install the pin that lubes the selective washer and the 3 screws, should the stator have any play? When I install the pin it won't move at all. I just don't want to chance it if it's an issue. I seem to remember a little voice in my head telling me that's a major no no. Thanks

Let me also add I can spin it(the stator) pretty easily in the pump body. I did a bunch of searching and I can't find any useful info.

25 views and nobody has any tidbits...... If this is a non issue I am gonna finish this trans tomorrow. Bruce's write up says use red loctite when installing,ck says use dowells and the guide pin. If I did it that way I wouldn't of caught it being loose. Locite would tighten it up but is that ok,I could even use the green loctite.

I've installed a few

But not an expert. The ones that were LOOSE in the bore was because the pump housing was cracked. Might want to look for that. Sorry I don't have the answer you are looking for.

it depends on your definition of loose.a few thousandths,under 3 will allow it to spin but not cause problems with circuit oil loss.
