Speaking of pocket books. Take a look at this link. Look at how our government just pissed away 15 billion in tax payer money in the name of "fighting AIDS in the 3rd world". According to my math that is more than 50 bucks a year out of the pockets of each American tax payer that is being shipped off to some garbage-pale country only to be flushed down the proverbial crapper. Like most of you all I'm a hard working person trying to cope with outrageous federal taxes, not to mention a crushing cost of living here in CA. Sorry if I'm not all broken up over some guy in Zambia getting an infected load pumped up his hind end.

Instead of worrying about a bunch of 3rd world toilet bowl countries, how about we spend 50 bucks per American trying to create some jobs for people, or heaven forbid actually pay off some of the national debt. Just my inflation adjusted 3 cents.

Ben I have been telling my wife that for years! We need to take care of our own...not everybody else's!!!!!! BTW how'd you get that large avatar?:D

Present one that...
  • won't tell lies
  • is a leader and not a follower
  • will cut taxes for everybody
  • will support the right to keep and bear arms
  • is not an environmental wacko
  • will put a higher priority on what is good for the country over what is good for his party
  • will support and protect individual rights instead of group rights
  • supports a reduction in government spending
  • supports the privatization of social security and medicare

...and I'll vote for him.

Disgusting, ain't it??

You are Soooooooooooo right, Ben!! I was so pi$$ed off, I not only wrote the senator and congessman from my district, I also called them... You guessed it... No response other than to acknowledge they got the letters.

It's sad commentary when the school systems in this country have to ask the teachers to buy art supplies out of their own pockets, the kids to share books, the art, sports and music programs are trashed to keep the doors open.. All so we can pay for nonsense such as the "fight against AIDS" is some country that have 2 flush toilets per 1 million population..

It would never work, due to too many "pussies" not going along w/ the plan, but if just 15 million people refused to file or pay their taxes, just ONE time, maybe those morons would get the message...NAH!!

But then, look at the results of the last election.. So many candidates professed to "take care of the USA first".. What happened?? They got threatened w/ their very livelyhoods by the entrenched morons, and ended up voting for legislation, EXACTLY as they were told to..

It's a sad, sad situation for all of us.
I ended up paying tax on 85% of my social security last yr.. Now that was SICK!!  I wonder how much of that is earmarked for some Ubangi's AIDS medicine??

Nuf said, The longer I rant, the madder I get...

One that also has enough brains to see a World Class Economy means the US changing to mud huts, or pulling ricshaws for a living.

Also, has the ----- to react when we get bombed, unlike past pusses that want to talk about it or bomb milk factories.

Not trying to piss you guys off too much, but...
What happens when the AIDS epedemic spreads from South America (and no, its not because they are all gay) to Central and North Africa? Were will it spread from there? Southern Europe? Northern Europe? England? America?
The best way to stop an epidemic is to kill it at its source, and right now that sourse is Southern Africa.

Now, I AGREE with you when you say that more money needs to be spent on American jobs and paying the national debt, but what good is a job when we are all dying from AIDS?

just my controversial 2 cents

If that is what you are looking for, vote Libertarian.

We have such little affect so who cares. Want to make a differance then do what ever you can to become rich and once you have money just maybe you can make a change to our country. If you don't have the $ you might as well not say a thing as it will have no affect any ways.

For the last 20+ years, Democrats have blamed Republicans for the AIDs "epidemic".

Doesn't anybody remember how much grief Reagan had to endure from AIDs activists, basically blaming him for a Disease that is still incurable. At EVERY speach there were a scattering of hecklers yelling "shame, shame, etc, etc"

Man that used to Piss me off. He wasn't telling them to have unprotected gay sex, but i'm sure he was was just wishing they would just unprotected gay sex off.

I'm for the Bush Plan, though. $15 Billion dollars and after that we can tell them to FO when they blame us for something we had nothing to do with.

The money will spent on US drugs and US made goods so it isn't like it won't be creating Jobs in the US. Keep in mind that a dollar is no good unless it is eventually used to buy a US good or service.

You can thank Algore for casting the tie-breaking vote in the Senate for that. And then Clinton for signing the bill into law.

Aids doesn't know borders. It'll cost alot more than 15 billion to treat thousands infected here. It does suck that we pay for most of it though.

Yes, But we know our borders and should shut them down at once. We are becoming the land of service instead of industry
Lets face it what gets built more in america today, industry
or Burger king's.

It will get a whole lot worse before it get's better.
Just my opinion:D

The economy was "booming" for the last 3 quarters under Bush 1. Joe six packs like yourself didn't know it yet because the it takes a year or two of the economy booming until people actually start building things.

The economy tanked under the last year of Clinton. The lack of confidence in the stock market happened under clinton's watch. Enron and the telecom crash... All of it. Check a NASDAQ chart if you don't believe me. The thought it would come back kept people employed for a year or so. When it didn't the layoffs happened. Even with the "MASSIVE LAYOFF'S" unemployment is still relatively low and the ecomony is still expanding (No Recession)

When the economy starts booming again with ZERO Democrat influence, you can remind us all how great a president Al Gore would have been

Not exactly endearing words. If we had your money we could be Joe 12 packs right. You don't see us calling you a dips$#t do you? We could have even said, "We six-packers are at least not fudgepackers." But no....we have too much class!

When the economy starts booming again with ZERO Democrat influence, you can remind us all how great a president Al Gore would have been [/B]

Look in your history books for the last HALF CENTURY and tell us six-packers, which Republican administration has had a booming economy! Not!

Wipe the oil out of yer eyes pardner and try reading a history book.

Next time our carrier is in the gulf, we'll invite you down to tell us your what you found out.
