Im putting an 87 GN motor in my 87 MonteCarlo.......trans?-I have a built th350 trans in my Monte with high stall converter (stall unknown)...I wanted to use my th350 since its ready to go, I know I may need a BOP adapter plate, but will the torqe converter slide in place and bolt up to the flywheel without any problems?...would I need to take the flywheel off the 350ci and put it on the buick motor?...also with a 3 speed setup does this have a performance advantage over a stock 4 speed setup with these TurboBuicks?...as if they both had the same stall, im just saying whats better for the 1/4 mile a stock 3 speed or stock 4 speed?...also what about the kickdown cable?..is there a universal kickdown cable or will the 4 speeds kickdown bolt up to my 3 speed, because I dont have a kickdown cable in my Monte, I do it by hand...do I even need it for the GN motor, will this trans effect the computer at all?

not sure but I think some of the chevys have weights on the flywheel, if so then you will beat the bearings out of the buick because you will unbalance the motor. Like I said though I am not sure on it. What gear are you running in the rear end? Go to the auto parts store and just get the dtent cable you cheap rascle hahahahha. You need it, by hand is risky when you are trying to drive a beast!!!!!!!!! You need to find out what stall you have as well, a convertor that stalls 2500 behind a 350 chevy will stall diffrent behind a turbo motor anyway. May be less or way more depending on your power and how much boost you start putting to it on the line espcially. Personally I know its expensive but you would be better off to contact Brian Hofer and get one of his 200r4s . I have one in mine and it works perfect in daily driving, gets good gas miliage and has NO problems doing a wheels up lauch off the trans brake. Daniel Ray
