Question about the chip/ecm in my car

I just traded for a mostly stock 86 GN and it has a switch in the glove box attached to the ecu, It will go from 0-7 just by clicking the upper or lower buttons. What type is this and does anyone have any info on what each setting does. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
