Hey crowd. Saw these at Kirban's open house. Are those regular G body braces or are they unique to the TRs?

Where can I get a set?

Thank you.

We'll the fact that you were at Kirban's open house should of been a clue ;)

They are not factory, they are an add on. You can also find them at junk yards on some other models.

Not that popular... look into the frame bracing under the front of the car... frame ends to engine cross member and across the front of the frame. I have that and it handles like a different car from stock.

Its a custom set made for our cars as Regals did not come with factory underhood braces. I got mine from Kirbans.

The Oldsmobile and Pontiac G body cars came with the under hood braces and the frame bracing under the nose of the car.

Those may have been custom made. There were a couple of styles used by GM. Some were metal tubes like the ones shown, others were a solid thin metal brace.

Invest in the frame and rear seat braces first, then you will probably realize you don't even need these.

Like already said those look custom made. You can order them from Kirbans performance and other vendors or you can get them from a salvage yard like i did.

There is really no downside to adding all the braces you can to stiffen the body and frame on these cars and there not that expensive.

I have all the normal braces and also a 1" square bar stock on the ends of the frame rails front and rear.

The braces that come on the Pontiac Grand prix are quite a bit longer and they are pretty thin. Oh and that car you took those pictures from is a rust bucket POS with parts made in china in it!!:p

I figured I would chirp in on this thread...as it has been stated those braces are made by our company. While other G body cars had similar under the hood braces they were a thin rod style that went alot longeer under the hood. Of all the braces we sell these are the smallest and its hard to gauge the value of them.

here is is a list of braces we market as does other companies

The 4 piece rear seat braces by far the best braces you can buy for instant improvment. Other option is to go with the repro GNX welded in style which is equally as good.

the front frame brace set which can be found on certain G body Monte Carlos etc in junkyards problem is, you need to make sure you get the special sel tampping bolts....we now make those braces

To complete that above mentioend set is the frotn connecting brace bacially forms a triangle under the front of the turbo regal. all the holes already exist.

last but not least determine if oyur car lacks the 4 or 6 lower body bushings/cushions and install them.

If your still have money left step up and install Bilstein shocks and new rear springs.

Again just some suggestions I am sure not all readers may agree on my choice of shocks but on everything else their should be little disagreement. Ours cars have the torque, its the suspension that is lacking.

The difference all the above can make will be instantly felt within the first mile of driving.

The rear seat braces are by far the best selling brace set we have sold for over years.....

Thank you guys. I thought so that these braces were different from other G bodies, it looks nothing like the ones on my 78 Malibu.

Denis, I walked away with $350 worth of purchases from your open house and will be coming back. Great business you have and those cookies were delicious. Thank you.
